Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference 2022

will be held on June 6 through June 10

As of today April 5th, Apple announced that it’s gonna hold it’s World Wide Developers Conference 2022 on June 8th, 2022. The event will be all virtual events like it’s 2 prior events. Physical event is still unsafe due to ongoing health crisis.

Here’s what to expect from this new event:

Swift Student Challenge:

With every WWDC event, Apple hosts a Swift Student Challenge, which is a coding challenge that gives the students a task for creating a Swift Playgrounds 4 project on the topic of their choice.

The winners will receive WWDC 2022 outerwear, a customized WWDC 2022 pin set, and a one-year membership in the Apple Developer Program.

iOS 16:

Unfortunately, this year we don’t have much information about the new major release of iOS but judging by the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro leaks, we may see a design tweak to better adjust to the punch-hole design. Perhaps maybe a return of battery percentage? We’ll have to see.

macOS 13 Mammoth:

Though it’s hard to say what the final name of macOS 13 will be, it’s still a very funny journey to guess, macOS 12 Monterey introduced many new features last year so we don’t expect a major update this year rather than a performance patch.

Mac Pro:

Mark Gurman who’s a credible Apple leaker said that Apple is all set to launch a new Mac Pro sometime in June or July which lines up with WWDC 2022 so maybe we can see a new Mac Pro announced there.

Apple’s New VR Headset:

Apple has been working on the VR headset for some time now, and it’s not yet known if it’s going to be ready for a WWDC 2022 reveal, so Apple could push it further. Let’s just hope that Apple gives us a sneak peak.
