If you are a Mac user then you might’ve received an update considering you’re enrolled under Apple’s Beta Program, but if you aren’t, don’t worry, here are some key features discovered in this Beta.
This beta was released on 16th December 2021 and is now slowly rolling out to all the supported Macs that are enrolled in Apple’s Developer Beta Programme.
Apple was supposed to release other updates as well for iOS, iPad OS, tv OS, and watch OS but they’re not here at the moment but that’s another topic.
Let’s just talk about macOS Beta for now:
- Apple Music for Mac has been re-written in App-Kit:

So, with the release of macOS Catalina in 2019. The old iTunes app was replaced by Apple Music and hasn’t received many updates since then, until now. Apple Music app has been re-written in App-Kit from the ground up, Although the UI for the app remains unchanged, it has significantly improved the speed and responsiveness of the app which is a great bonus.
- Pro-Motion in Safari:

If you have the latest M1 Pro and M1 Max MacBook Pro, this news is for you, the main key feature of these new MacBook Pro Models is the new 120Hz Pro-Motion display but users have complained due to the laggy and normal refresh rate response from Safari on these new MacBook models, Well Great News! Apple has implemented Pro-Motion in Safari now so all of your web pages and scrolling will feel much smoother due to Pro-Motion.
Bugs and issues:
With the update, users are also experiencing some minor bugs here and there. There are some stability issues but nothing major. Users are facing problems in the installation of the update but this can be fixed with just a simple reboot. However, if you run into something major, you can always use Apple Support on their website.

Typically, this update is about 1.85GB but it depends on the machine you’re using.
